Chateau Ste. Michelle Announces its 2015 Summer Concert Series

Michelle winery in Woodinville, Washington will kick off its 31st annual Summer Concert Series on Saturday, June 13th with a live broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion with host Garrison Keillor. Tickets for the winery’s concerts will go on sale Saturday, March 28th at 10 a.m. online at www.ticketmaster.com and through all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Chateau Ste. Michelle wine shop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Paula Eakin Named Winemaker for Michelle Sparkling Wine

Woodinville, Wash.

Washington state’s largest sparkling wine producer Michelle by Domaine Ste. Michelle will name Paula Eakin winemaker in April when winemaker Rick Casqueiro retires after nearly 20 years. Paula has assisted Casqueiro for the past two years on the Domaine Ste. Michelle blends and has spent the past 20 years making wine in Washington state. Eakin will be on hand to showcase Michelle sparkling wines at Taste Washington in Seattle, March 28 & 29.

Chateau Ste. Michelle Harvests Ice Wine!

Woodinville, Wash.

A cold snap in Eastern Washington this week allowed Chateau Ste. Michelle to harvest Ice Wine grapes on Saturday, November 15th at the winery’s Horse Heaven Vineyard in Paterson, Washington in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. When temperatures dropped to 6 degrees Fahrenheit around 3 am in the morning, crews picked Riesling grapes that were frozen solid (at 45 degrees Brix).

Columbia Crest has Donated Approximately 2,800,000 Meals to Food Banks in Four Years

Just in time for the holiday season, Columbia Crest Winery is participating in the Sharing Joy, Sharing Meals program at retail stores nationwide, continuing the winery’s commitment to feeding those in need. This is the fourth year that the winery will donate to food banks across the country. Columbia Crest will donate up to $75,000 in 2014 and has donated $400,000 to food banks over four years (approximately 2,800,000 meals served).

According to the publication, Vineyard & Winery Management launched the “20 Most Admired” issue “to shine a much-deserved spotlight in the North American wine industry.” The nominating committee was comprised of respected winemakers, grapegrowers, wine writers, educators, buyers, sommeliers and consultants across North America.

Raise A Glass, Fund A Scholarship" Program Runs Now Through December”

Washington's founding winery Chateau Ste. Michelle is partnering with Washington restaurants to support the seventh annual "Raise a Glass, Fund a Scholarship" program to benefit Viticulture and Enology programs at Washington State University and other Northwest universities. More than 200 restaurants will participate in the "Raise A Glass, Fund a Scholarship" program which runs now through the end of December 2014.
