Northstar Winery Unveils New Tasting Salon in Woodinville, Washington, Expanding its Tasting Presence to the Western Side of the State

WALLA WALLA, Wash.

Critically acclaimed Walla Walla wine producer, Northstar Winery, has officially unveiled their new Tasting Salon located in Chateau Ste. Michelle’s Tasting Room in Woodinville, Washington.

Established in the early 1990s in the Walla Walla Valley and long recognized as a benchmark producer of Washington Merlot, Northstar Winery has built its reputation on crafting wines that showcase the purest expression of the region’s terroir. At the helm of this meticulous winemaking is David “Merf” Merfeld, who has been Northstar’s Head Winemaker for the past 20 years.

The new Woodinville Tasting Salon allows guests to explore Northstar’s world-class, critically acclaimed wines. Due to its Western Washington location, wine professionals and connoisseurs alike in Seattle and surrounding areas are now able to explore and engage with Northstar Winery closer to home. The Salon offers a range of tastings, including Winemaker Select Flights, Premier Merlot Tastings, Library Tastings, along with curated Food and Wine Pairings, bookable on the Northstar website.

Hours of operation are Wednesday through Sunday from 11am to 5pm, with last seating at 3:45pm.

Tasting Salon Experiences Include:

Winemaker Select Flight | Wednesday – Sunday | $30 per person Sample through a selection of four Limited Release, Reserve wines from the Columbia and Walla Walla Valleys. Each tasting flight features the newest vintages of four wines from the Northstar Winery portfolio.

Premier Merlot Tasting | Wednesday – Sunday at 12:45pm | $40 per person Northstar Premier Merlot is a standout expression of Washington Merlot, known for its precision and depth. Taste through the three vintages and partake in a unique opportunity to explore how different growing seasons and winemaking techniques shape the evolution of this exceptional Merlot.

Library Tasting | Friday – Sunday at 3:30pm | $50 per person Don't miss your chance to taste through history. Experience an exclusive selection of three wines from Northstar’s Vintage Cellar. These wines are the very last of their vintages with only a small amount of inventory left.

Food & Wine Pairing | Friday – Sunday at 11:30am | $95 per person Enjoy carefully selected wines from Northstar’s cellar with pairing bites crafted by Chateau Ste. Michelle’s Executive Chef. Guests will experience and learn how pairing wine with food can change the characteristics of wine’s aromas and flavor profiles.
